We all know the time of year, good food, good drink, good company (although you can't choose your family, someone once said to me - luckily ours are great and late nights drinking and chatting were a regular pastime of the festive season - sorry I digress).
Anyway we have looked at some crazy people who instead of counting down the 10 seconds, with such accuracy there are hundreds of uniquely timed new years celebrations, each with the same result of kissing, cuddling, singing (pretty badly) and cheering, have done the more alternatives.

1. Well Tina Turner in 88 decided wading out into sea at night was the way forward but the freezing ocean on the south coast would not have been anywhere as glamourous...
2. In Barcelona in Spain they thought a 10k run would be a great way of warming up for the nights celebrations.......
